Northwest Montana Beauty
The weather has not been very good for picture taking or seeing the area but we took a a drive to Yaak on Sunday.
YAAK? It is Montana’s most northwestern city! We drove 65 miles on 2 lane paved fire service roads. We saw evidence of recent fires and tree replanting. Up and over around and down top speed 45 mph and “yahoo” downtown and uptown Yaak which consists of The Dirty Shame Saloon and Yaak Mercantile & Tavern. We had a good lunch and a little talk with the bartender/waitress who had moved here from Michigan and the cashier who had moved here from Washington.
We then headed back to Eureka following the same route. I forgot to say that our route crossed Lake Koocanusa over a beautiful bridge.
We woke up Monday morning and “viola” partly cloudy skies and forecasted warmer temperature! I grabbed my camera and looked for ideal vantage points to take some pictures.
The RV park that we are staying is just over a year old and very nice and ver pretty views. The park includes a beautiful golf course which I got a tee time to play.
They arranged for me to join 3 other guys and off we went. I really enjoyed the course and the friendly people I was paired with .
The course had some great spots to take more beautiful pictures.
I have to say that Eureka and the surrounding area is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been.
Tomorrow we head to Three Forks.
